Deepen your clinical expertise in treating skin-focused repetitive behaviors (SFRBs) with this advanced 3-hour training led by Stacy K. Nakell, LCSW, CGP, CCTP.
Building on (pre-requisite) introductory concepts CE training, this non-CE ā201ā session explores how the connection between skin conditions and mental health, the field of psychodermatology that addresses these connections, and how to use this understanding to deepen our clinical work.Ā

This training is structured into three interactive parts:

Didactic (1 hr):
We will review the history and current state of the field of Psychodermatology. This field was founded by dermatologists who recognized the reciprocal influence of skin disorders and mental health. We will delve into current research into the efficacy of addressing mental health along with a variety of skin conditions. -
Process Group (1 hr): Participants will engage in a facilitated group experience, seeded by the didactic material, with guided discussion and debrief.

About the Speaker

Stacy K. Nakell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Group Psychotherapist, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Society. With over 15 years in private practice, Stacy specializes in helping pre-teens, teens, and adults with SFRBs using an integrative psychodynamic approach. She is the author of three peer-reviewed articles and the book Treatment for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors: An Integrative Psychodynamic Approach (Routledge, 2023).
Beyond her clinical work, Stacy brings a unique background as a former amateur boxer and USA Boxing coach, embodying strength, resilience, and a deep commitment to healing.
