The Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors Changemakers' Mission

The BFRB Community has been largely ignored by the traditional healthcare system.

Christina Pearson is credited for bringing this community together by speaking out nearly 30 years ago about her own BFRB struggles. She's the one that got treatment professionals on board early on and pushed for research and even helped come up with the name!!

Christina's heart-centered approach to building community for those with BFRBs is rooted in love - and so is the answer to BFRB recovery.

It is Christina's loving mission that we wish to continue & she is a mentor/advisor on this journey to being a BFRB Changemaker!

But how?

The change we wish to make is to fill the giant hole that was created during COVID and in the last few years following.

The BFRB Changemakers will be an all-volunteer-run organization.

In the coming weeks we plan to formally organize into a legal entity and seek non-profit status. Donations will support the costs to run our programming.

Our focus will be on creating healing connection within the community through international conferences, regional meetups and virtual speaker sessions/chatups AND whatever else our team of volunteers can dream up and make happen!

We will achieve what YOU join us in helping us achieve!

Who are The Changemakers

The BFRB Changemakers Board is volunteer-based. The team is:

  • Aneela Idnani, President

Aneela turned her 25 year struggle with trichotillomania into her purpose of helping others heal. She is cofounder of HabitAware and has helped tens of thousands. Through her lived experience and talking with the most people in the BFRB community, she has deep understanding of these conditions & doesn't want others to go through the pain she has!
